#15- Damon Proctor (Captain)

Position: QB/LB/Punter

Role Model: Dennis Proctor

Reason for playing football? I’m very competitive and enjoy contact sports. I also enjoy the camaraderie and play for the community.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Running out on the field on Homecoming, camp food, breakdowns with the entire team after a solid workout.

Future Plans: Go to college to play baseball/football.

Advice for younger students: Time flies! You have 36 high school season games, which seems like a lot but isn’t. Make every practice, game, and team event all it can be. Some of your greatest high school memories are made on that game field on Friday nights.

Role Model: My dad.

Reason for playing football? The bond you form with the rest of the team is something you can’t get anywhere else.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Destroying Alpena our first game of freshmen year.

Advice for younger students: Have fun. Enjoy school and football because these years go by fast.

Reason for playing football? For the challenge and experience.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Goal line stand against Bay City JV year. It was such an adrenaline rush and great thing to Experience with my team mates.

Advice for younger students: It goes by fast; give 100% or you will regret it.

Role Model: Lebron James

Reason for playing football? The intensity and family-like atmosphere.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Freshmen year,  scoring 5 touchdowns against Rogers City.

Future Plans: To be successful.

Advice for younger students: Stay in shape and commit.

Role Model: Trey Crongeyer and Chris Crongeyer

Reason for playing football? I love to play, and it keeps me out of trouble.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Rap battle at football camp.

Future Plans: Make music or DJ for a radio station.

Advice for younger students: Don’t quit when things get tough; work harder.

Reason for playing football? I love the bonds we develop with each other and the fun and excitement we experience.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Rap battle at 2012 football camp.

Future Plans: Become a great musician.

Advice for younger students: Stick with it if you love it; if not, don’t play.

Reason for playing football? I enjoy the sport.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Peel block freshmen year when Damon ran the ball.

Future Plans: Become a physical therapist

Advice for younger students: If you don’t want to play because of camp, you should do it. The memories are worth it.

Role Model: My father, Michael Garst

Reason for playing football? It’s a good team sport to being you closer to those in your school and a way to have fun spending times with friends.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Playing Petoskey my junior year because of the energy and effort shown by everyone. Even though we lost, it is a great memory.

Future Plans: Attend college for computer engineering.

Advice for younger students: The aches and pains don’t last forever; fight through them and always try your best.

Reason for playing football? To try to improve myself and make me into a better person.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Beating Mio my freshmen year.

Future Plans: Go to SVSU for an engineering degree.

Advice for younger students: Always try your hardest, even in practice.

Role Model: My family and elders

Reason for playing football? It requires a tremendous amount of dedication and trains me to show that same aspect in all parts of my life.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Every Petoskey game I have ever played and fun times with my teammates.

Future Plans: Attend college and score a job where I’m as happy as possible.

Advice for younger students: Get involved, and leave it all on the field. You’ll have regrets when you’re older, that’s how life works. Have as few as possible.

Reason for playing football? It is a fun sport, and I love the thrill of a win.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Beating Bay City John Glenn by holding them on the 1-yard line for four plays.

Future Plans: Attend college for auto mechanics.

Advice for younger students: Work hard because it goes by too fast to sit in the background and not make something of yourself.

Reason for playing football? The feeling of being a part of something bigger than myself.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Shocking Petoskey in a game that they thought would be an easy win.

Future Plans: Attend SVSU and major in mechanical engineering.

Advice for younger students: Never take one play off; go hard all the time.

#68 - Alex Frato

Position: OT/DT

Role Model: Amy Maxwell, Joey Frato

Reason for playing football? My friends convinced me to play my freshmen year and I loved it. I then learned that my father had played and that helped me continue to play. I have support from my friends and family to play.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Playing Mio as a freshman and being down 20-0 at half time. We beat them 60-20.

Advice for younger students: Keep trying, never give up, and don’t lose your enthusiasm near the end of the season when you need it the most.

Advice for younger students: Work hard.

Reason for playing football? For the love of the sport, the great memories, team bonding, camaraderie.

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS?  Coach McGowan saying, “If you don’t like mustard on your hot dogs, you’re a commie” and Ravenna came my junior year.

Future Plans: Go to school and start my own weapons company.

Advice for younger students: Work as hard as you can, push yourself to become better, accept advice/help, listen to your coaches, talk to your teammates on and off the line.

#83 - Stan Swiderek

Position: WR/S

Role Model: Dwayne Elmore

Reason for playing football? I watched my cousins play when I was young and I always wanted to be on Western Avenue Field. I also always wanted to wear the orange football pants which I thought were very stylish! 

Greatest memories of playing football for CHS? Being brought up to Varsity as a Sophomore and scoring two TD's against Alpena in the season opener.   

Future Plans: Go to college to further my education. 

Advice for younger students: Play every play like it’s your last, because someday, you will never get a chance to play again. Your best memories of high school are with your friends playing sports.

#Mgr. - Allie Santer

Position: Manager

Role Model: Pops.

Reason for managing football? I love the family atmosphere and all the memories made.

Greatest memories of managing football for CHS? All the very intense games and the bonding.

Future Plans: Become a forensic scientist.

Advice for younger students: Have fun, always play your hardest, think, be positive.
